We'll guide you through the jungle of creating a TikTok Business account, setting up an Ad account, and sharing it with your partner. So, strap in and get ready for some TikTok magic! It's not as scary as it sounds, we promise. Now, let's get started!

Creating a TikTok Business Account

  1. Sign Up for a TikTok Account: If you don't already have a TikTok account, go to the TikTok Business website or app and sign up using your preferred method.

  2. Complete your Business Profile: Fill in all the relevant details about your business including your business name, contact information, and industry. Make sure to also upload a profile picture that accurately represents your business, such as a logo.

Expert Advice: Attention business owners - it's crucial to ensure that you personally create and retain ownership of your Business Centre and Ad Account on TikTok. This safeguards your valuable assets and data, providing you with a safety net in the event of any unexpected changes in your partnership with your agency.

Creating a TikTok Ad Account

  1. Go to TikTok Ads Manager: Navigate to the TikTok for Business website and click on Assets > Advertiser accounts. Under Add an advertiser account, click on Create New.

  2. Fill in the Ad Account Information: You will be asked to provide details such as the account name, time zone, and currency. Be mindful while selecting these as they cannot be changed once the account is set up. Click 'Next' when you're done.

  3. Enter Billing Details: You will be asked to enter your billing information. This includes your business address, payment method, and tax information. Please note that the information provided should be accurate and legitimate to avoid future complications.

  4. Review and Confirmation: Review the information that you have filled in and confirm it. Your account will be reviewed by TikTok's team. Once approved, your ad account will be set up.

Now, you have both a TikTok Business account and a TikTok Ad account. Let's move on to sharing your ad account with a partner:

Sharing Your TikTok Ad Account with a Partner

  1. Go to the 'Assets' Tab: Once you are in your TikTok Ads Manager account, click on the 'Assets' tab at the top of the page.

  2. Select 'Partners': Within the 'Users' drop-down, you'll find an option for 'Partners'. Click on ‘Add partner’ to start sharing your assets.

  3. Choose the Correct Ad Account & Assets: If you have multiple ad accounts & assets, find the one you wish to share. Click on the account's name to open its settings.

  4. Enter the Partner's Business ID: Each business on TikTok has a unique Business ID. Make sure to get the correct ID from your partner.

  5. Set Permissions: After adding the Business ID, you'll need to set permissions for your partner. You can give them administrative permissions, which allows full access, or limit their permissions based on what they need to do. Be careful with these settings and only give as much access as needed.

  6. Invite the Partner: After setting permissions, click on the 'Invite' button. An invitation will be sent to the partner's business email.

  7. Confirmation: Your partner will need to accept the invitation to have access to the account. Once they have done this, they will be able to access the ad account with the permissions you've set.

Preparing for Advertising

  1. Fund Your Ad Account: After setting up your accounts and arranging partnerships, there's an important final step to prepare for advertising. You need to deposit funds into your Ad account. Navigate to the 'Billing' section within your Ad account. Here, you can add the necessary funds for your upcoming advertising campaigns.

By following these steps, you can successfully create a TikTok Business account and Ad account and share it with another partner. Happy advertising!
